THE 1950’S AND 1960’S

Series of Photographic digital prints

This series of photographs, named simply the ‘1950’s and 1960’s’, represents the passion behind a custom cultured lifestyle and how people attempt to relive that culture now. As I have grown up, I have been surrounded by loud souped up hotrods and music, women with wave like hair and make up with bright red lipstick, men with slicked back hair and thick rimmed sunglasses and lastly, working on hotrods all hours of the night. It is these experiences that ultimately inspired my final piece. My piece is about confidence, about passion and most importantly it is about telling a story that people can reflect on. I used a digital camera to capture black and white photographs that showcased old buildings, models and hotrods symbolising the lifestyle of the eras in which I explored.
